Trees and Story Garden

Reaching the summit of Mt. Murud and trekking in the nearby forests took me two days. I spent nearly four days in and around the summit in the company of pitcher plants, fires at night, and collecting leeches. Near the top of the mountain, where this image was made, there was a garden of rocks and small trees that remind me of a Dr. Seuss book. Looking out over the expanse of forests and the silence, I realized, it's really possible to believe that trees and forests offer lessons for the world.
