Hope In Light Imagery - Images of Forest Edges & Participatory Conservation Photography

Dedication

This website is dedicated to those who live within and on the boundaries of tropical rainforest. Communities, individuals, and pieces of the forest on this website serve as an inspiration to those of us who photograph, write, and research to share what we learn. The publisher and copyright holder of this website is Noah Jackson / Hope In Light Imagery 1999-2008. By using this website you are agreeing to the terms of use.

Terms of Use

Thank you for visiting my website and your interest in my work. All images on this website are copyrighted by me (Noah Jackson / Hope In Light Imagery). They are available as fine art prints to support my work with forest communities.

If you are a non-profit, NGO, or independent researcher and you would like free web-based use of my images, I usually provide web-use free of charge if your work fits within my mission, vision, and intention of my own work. In return for web use, I ask for a link to my site on or near the image on your site. To get started with this good old-fashioned handshake contract (that's what we call it in Montana), send me a note. In your email, please give me your website url, the image you would like to use.

If you are a publisher or editor interested in purchasing rights-managed images, please contact me. If you are a gallery owner or interested in displaying my work, let's begin a dialog.

Using others images / Notes about the Global Image Galleries

For those of us who photograph and write for a living, using and referencing others work can cause concern.  From time to time, however, I solicit images from other photographers (and writers and researchers) to collect images of social and environmental importance.  I believe that by creating a public gallery of endangered forest trails, for example, we can motivate others to support local projects that encourage restoration and environmental awareness.  I've seen this happen at all levels (local and national) in many areas of the world where I've worked.

Part of this site is a platform to create a dialog and share these kinds of images.  I hope to create several large-scale public galleries to highlight various issues related to this mission.  Given this, here are my official terms of use and intent.

USING OTHERS IMAGES: This is your work.  Images will be posted in a seperate gallery on this site with your text and name. Particularly compelling or powerful images may also be featured on this site's homepage.  Images will not be printed or otherwise used. You will get some exposure, the joy of sharing your work, and being part of a larger photographic movement. Images will only be published online on this website.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Send no more than 5 images no larger than 700 pixels at 72 jpgs. Quality can be medium (or set to 70% in your software). Please remember to include your contact information and a sentence (or two) about the context and making of this image.
