Burn Patchwork Welcome Creek Wilderness Area (Montana)

Late last summer a portion of the seven square mile Welcome Creek Wilderness area burned. I returned this spring, just as the snow was melting. The image is six separate details of burned trees. In parts of the images, evidence of re-growth is occurring. The details of the trees were made on the same day, traversing the hillside, rotating my camera with each image to imitate the patchwork of trees across the slope. Made from 6 seperate images, mounted together. Large matted edition is 60 inches long. Sizes in 12, 24, and 48 inches.
