Aspens, Evening Bitterroot-Selway Wilderness, MT
Aspens, Evening
Bitterroot-Selway Wilderness, MT
Nine miles in the wilderness along the Montana and Idaho border. We haven’t found camp yet but there is an aspen grove. The trail of scree and wildflowers and budding service berries and bear grass takes you in, through the grove. It pulls you through it, draws you in. But there in the middle, even if just for a moment, you can stand in the middle, close your eyes, and listen to the pull and sway and quake of the aspens. My girlfriend and my dog were up the trail. I don’t know how long I stood in the grove. I opened my eyes in the fresh evening light and made this image. Sizes: 8x10, 11x14, 12x18, 17x24
