Storm Moment - Bass Lake, Bitterroot-Selway Wilderness
After a day of hiking through the rain, nine miles from a Forest Service road, we found this spot on the end of Bass Lake. No one else was there that season; a party with horses had turned around at the foot of the lake. In the morning, the rain receded and then began again. This image was made in between that brief moment. Back in the tent, with rain falling hard, the earth clattered, either from the rain, or a moose running for shelter, or both.
