Snowpack, Continental Divide
During a storm, I’m four miles off the road from Logan Pass within the bounds of Glacier National Park on top of the Continental Divide at 9000 feet. It’s raining, and getting dark. But we are having a blast, sliding down steep banks of the ebbing snowpack. Ski tracks in the distance (upper left) switchback across the ice and meltlines. An ice patch (upper right) adds constrast to this long exposure. In the foreground the snowpack drops off. Rain continues to fall. Sizes: 8x10, 11x14, 12x18, 17x24
