Trail of Mountains
The top of Mount Kinabalu is the one of the highest mountain in Southeast Asia. Standing near the top (4095 meters), clouds become one with the rock. Everything is at once wet and cold. We climbed in darkness, with lines of bodies rasping. Like a group making a pilgrimage to a sacred site, at the top I clasped arms with strangers. We sat down. The sun rose, and clouds were pushed aside. Light bathed on our faces, the rock, and reflected on granite and faces, making more light. I setup my tripod, I warmed hands, I fiddled with the camera, I watched the light, and warmed hands again. A wind came up and the canvas of the earth shifted, causing a sense of vertigo. Feeling myself move with the earth, I made this large format image. Rough art print dimensions: 15x5 inches and 37x12 inches. This image may be printed up to 20 feet long.
